Storm Darragh Causes Rooftop Debris to fall in Worthing
High winds from Storm Darragh caused debris to fall from the rooftop of a block of flats in Worthing, leading to an emergency response by fire crews and police.
The incident occurred on Sunday, December 8, at Steyne Gardens, when debris was reported falling from the roof due to strong winds. West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service dispatched two fire engines and an aerial ladder platform to secure the scene. Sussex Police were also in attendance, closing nearby roads to ensure public safety.
A spokesperson for West Sussex Fire & Rescue Service confirmed that crews arrived at 3:05 pm and found debris falling from the rooftop as a result of the storm. Firefighters worked alongside police officers to make the area safe and prevent further risks to the public.
