Summer Dog Ban Enforced on Worthing Beach

May 2, 2024
Worthing beach is among the key locations in Sussex where dogs are banned from beaches effective from May 1 until September 30.
This annual restriction is implemented to keep these public areas clean, safe, and accessible during the peak tourist season. Local authorities have identified specific stretches of coastline where the ban will be enforced including the stretch from Heene Road to Splashpoint and between Seafield Avenue and the launch ramp at Worthing Sailing Club in Goring.
Dog owners are advised to keep their pets on leads while walking on promenades near the restricted beaches. Offenders, including those allowing their dogs to roam off-lead on promenades, may face fixed penalty notices as part of the enforcement measures.
