Sussex Dolphin Project Seeks £80,000 for Essential Research Vessel
The Sussex Dolphin Project has launched a fundraising campaign to secure £80,000 for the purchase of a dedicated research vessel to advance their marine conservation initiatives.
Established in 2018, the Sussex Dolphin Project focuses on understanding and protecting dolphin and porpoise populations along the Sussex coast. Currently, the team relies on chartering private vessels for research, which is both costly and limits the scope of their studies. Acquiring their own boat would enable more extensive surveys, allowing for better monitoring of marine mammal populations and health.
The project aims to raise the necessary funds through a crowdfunding campaign, with contributions supporting the boat’s purchase and associated expenses such as training and mooring fees. Donors are offered various incentives, including personalised thank-you packs and discounts on future boat trip tickets.
