Sussex Youth Police Officers Engage Schools and Community to Tackle ASB

Sussex Police youth officers have been working with local schools and families to address antisocial behaviour (ASB) and support vulnerable children.

Officers visited a number of schools across the Adur and Worthing areas, offering educational sessions and interventions.

Primary schools such as Buckingham, Glebe, and Homefield received support, while secondary institutions like Shoreham Academy, Durrington High, St Andrews, Oscar Romero, and Bohunt were also involved. Beyond school hours, officers patrolled the community, resulting in alcohol seizures from young people, with their parents being informed to help curb ASB incidents.

Additionally, officers conducted home visits to children of concern, aiming to work with families to prevent further issues. They also attended a London conference to hear from parents of exploited children, gaining insights on how best to support these families during difficult times.
