[Worthing Shoreham] | July 5, 2024

Tom Rutland has been elected as East Worthing and Shoreham’s first Labour MP, securing 22,126 votes.

Rutland, a former Lambeth councillor, emerged victorious over Conservative candidate Leila Williams, who received 12,601 votes.

The seat was previously held by Conservative Tim Loughton since 1997. Loughton announced his decision to stand down earlier this year. Rutland, 32, who resides in Lancing, took advantage of the opportunity to claim the seat for Labour.
