Tributes Paid to Father-of-Three Killed in A280 Long Furlong Collision

Tributes have been paid to a father-of-three who was tragically killed in a collision on the A280 Long Furlong, near Worthing. Chris Fountain, 52, from Ferring, died at the scene following a collision with a lorry in the early hours of Monday, 9th September.

Mr Fountain’s family described him as a dedicated husband and father, as well as a valued member of the Worthing Rugby Club, where he worked as a coach. His family expressed their devastation, noting that he also had international business interests and was dearly missed by colleagues abroad. The lorry driver involved in the accident was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to the incident, which resulted in the road being closed for two days. Anyone with information or relevant footage is urged to contact Sussex Police, quoting Operation Hemsworth.
