Two Men Convicted Following Worthing Stabbing Incident

Two men have been convicted after a stabbing near Goring Road in Worthing on March 24.

Armed police were called to the scene after a 22-year-old man was injured in an altercation outside a coffee shop. A 30-year-old man from London was found with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital. Both victims were later discharged.

Damien Lee, 28, and George Horsted, 26, both from The Quadrant in Worthing, were arrested in early April and charged with grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife. After a 13-day trial at Lewes Crown Court, the men were found not guilty of Section 18 wounding with intent. However, they were both convicted of Section 20 unlawful wounding and possession of a bladed article.

In addition, Horsted pleaded guilty to another count of unlawful wounding. The sentencing for both men is scheduled for October 25.
