Two Men Convicted of Unlawful Wounding in Worthing

Two men have been convicted of unlawful wounding and possession of a knife following an altercation in Worthing.

The incident occurred on 24 March 2024 and involved two men and a 22-year-old victim near Goring Road.

The altercation began in a restaurant and later moved outside a coffee shop, where a 30-year-old man from London was found with stab wounds. He was taken to hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries and later discharged. The 22-year-old victim from Worthing also sustained facial injuries during the incident.

Following a 13-day trial at Lewes Crown Court, Damien Lee, 28, and George Horsted, 26, both of The Quadrant, Worthing, were found guilty of Section 20 unlawful wounding and possession of a bladed article. Both men are due to be sentenced on 25 October 2024. Horsted additionally pleaded guilty to a separate charge of Section 20 unlawful wounding.
