Volunteer Event in Worthing's Beach House Park Cancelled Due to High Winds
A volunteer event at Worthing’s Beach House Park has been cancelled today due to high winds forecasted by the Met Office, with gusts expected to reach up to 70mph.
Worthing Borough Council announced the cancellation of the Saturday volunteer morning, citing safety concerns caused by 50mph winds predicted for the area. The Met Office has issued amber and yellow weather warnings for wind and rain across Sussex, with conditions expected to persist until Sunday evening.
The council expressed regret about the disruption but reassured residents that the next volunteer session at Beach House Park will take place on Tuesday, December 3, from 10am to midday. The volunteer programme aims to involve the community in maintaining the park, which has Green Flag status and is known as Worthing’s ‘premier park.’
Beach House Park, located near Worthing Hospital, is cherished for its green spaces and flat green bowling facilities. It has been part of the community since its public opening in 1924 and continues to be a focal point for local activities and volunteer efforts.
