West Sussex County Council Unveil New Housing Scheme
A partnership between West Sussex County Council and Lovell Partnerships aims to build 600 new homes in the county.
West Sussex County Council and Lovell Partnerships have launched a new housing scheme as part of their 30-year partnership. The first phase, which includes 22 affordable homes, is under construction on the former Eastbrook Primary School site in Southwick.
These homes will feature two, three, and four-bedroom options and are designed to be environmentally friendly, utilising air source heat pumps and incorporating biodiversity measures like bat boxes and hedgehog highways.
Councillor Jeremy Hunt, cabinet member for finance and property at West Sussex County Council, expressed his enthusiasm for the project, highlighting the efficient use of brownfield land to enhance local communities. Leanne Smith, director at Lovell Southern, emphasised the need for high-quality family homes and the mission to regenerate surplus land in West Sussex, creating vibrant and sustainable communities.
The development aims to provide spacious, welcoming homes and community spaces, making the most of West Sussex’s coastlines, countryside, and urban centres.
