West Sussex Youth Cabinet Launches 2024-2026 Manifesto to Support Young People

The West Sussex County Council Youth Cabinet has launched a new manifesto outlining its priorities to address the challenges faced by young people in the area.

The 2024-2026 manifesto, released this week, focuses on four key areas: youth safety, equity, mental health, and the environment, with plans for targeted campaigns and collaboration with local partners.

Each campaign within the manifesto sets out specific goals and initiatives, including raising awareness of key issues and working with schools, charities, and businesses to effect change. Reema Ahamed, Chair of the Youth Cabinet, expressed her enthusiasm for the manifesto, stating it reflects their commitment to improving the lives of young people over the next two years.

The Youth Cabinet, consisting of young people aged 11 to 18, plays a vital role in representing the views of West Sussex youth. In addition to local efforts, members also contribute to national discussions through the UK Youth Parliament, including annual debates in the House of Commons.
