Worthing Borough Council Reviews Proposals for Grafton Car Park Redevelopment
Worthing Borough Council is evaluating proposals to redevelop Grafton car park into a residential and leisure hub. The project aims to replace the seafront car park with homes, leisure spaces, and commercial units.
The council, which decided last year to sell the Grafton site, is looking for a developer to deliver the transformation. The plans include building at least 150 homes, enhanced green areas, leisure facilities, and commercial units. The site covers the car park, a bowling alley, food and drink outlets, shops, and access roads. The total area is approximately the size of a football pitch.
Numerous companies, both national and local, have expressed interest in the project, with proposals under review. A council spokesperson said that some ideas have been “very interesting” and that the council is carefully considering all options before moving forward with the redevelopment. The council is focusing on selecting a developer that shares its vision for high-quality and sustainable development.
