Worthing Business Group Object to December Roadworks for Heat Network
Worthing Business Improvement District, or BID, say they strongly object to any plans to carry out roadworks in the month of December due to the disruption from traffic build ups. They say the businesses they have spoken to are overwhelmingly against the proposal.
Plans have been announced by Hemiko, a heat network investor, developer and operator who have been selected by Worthing Borough Council to develop Worthing Heat Network. Hemiko say this will involve laying new pipe infrastructure affecting several roads in the town centre between 23rd November 2024 to 9th February 2025. More information on the scheme is available at https://hemiko.com/worthing
Worthing BID have asked that works are held off until after December to allow businesses to have a successful Christmas, which is absolutely essential for most in the current economic climate.
Hemiko have published a questionnaire to gather opinions at https://tinyurl.com/Hemiko-questionnaire. The deadline is Friday 1st November 2024.
