Worthing Charity Seeks Volunteer Drivers to Assist Elderly Residents
The Royal Voluntary Service in Worthing and Lancing is appealing for volunteers to help elderly residents attend medical appointments and community events. The charity highlights the need for drivers to support those who no longer drive, many of whom are missing important appointments.
The charity’s service manager, Paul Goff, noted that nearly half of over-70s without access to transport have missed medical appointments. Volunteer drivers are crucial in providing both transport and social connection, playing a key role in improving the well-being of older residents.
The charity is seeking 18 volunteers to join its team, with opportunities available through the Chesham House community centre in Lancing and the wider Adur and Worthing area. Interested individuals can sign up through the charity’s website.
