Worthing Collision Leads to Drink-Driving Arrest

A collision in Worthing resulted in a 20-year-old man being arrested on suspicion of drink-driving following a large emergency response on Wednesday evening.

Emergency services were called to the A2032 Littlehampton Road at the junction with Palatine Road at around 7:40 pm on December 4. Multiple police cars and ambulances attended the scene, where a car had collided with a lamppost. The driver, who sustained minor injuries, was treated at the scene before being taken to hospital. He was later arrested and bailed pending further inquiries.

Sussex Police have appealed for witnesses to come forward, urging anyone with information to contact them online or call 101, quoting serial 1054 of December 4. A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service confirmed that crews assessed and treated one person at the scene before transferring them to Worthing Hospital.
