Worthing Council Approves New Pedestrian Crossing to Improve School Safety
Worthing Borough Council has approved plans for a new pedestrian crossing at Chesswood Road, aimed at improving safety for local schoolchildren.
The crossing, funded by nearly £230,000 from developers, is part of ongoing efforts to enhance active travel across the town.
The new signal-controlled crossing will be located at the crossroads between Chesswood Road and Ladydell Road, providing a safer route for parents and children walking or cycling to nearby schools, including Davison High School and Homefield Primary School. Students attending St Andrew’s High School, Springfield, and Lyndhurst infant schools will also benefit from the improved infrastructure.
The project forms part of Worthing Borough Council’s broader goals to make walking and cycling more accessible for residents.
