Worthing Fabric Shop to Become Micropub Following Council Approval
A fabric shop in Worthing, The Eclectic Maker, located on Station Parade, Tarring Road, is set to be transformed into a micropub after receiving approval from Adur and Worthing Councils.
The planning application, submitted by Tony Button, was approved on Monday, marking the beginning of the conversion process.
The new micropub is expected to be open seven days a week, with operating hours from 2 pm to 9:30 pm on weekdays, noon to 10 pm on Saturdays, and noon to 8 pm on Sundays and bank holidays. The establishment will feature a mix of tables and benches inside and an enclosed outdoor seating area. Measures such as sound insulation in the ceiling and sound absorption on the walls will be implemented to minimise noise, and patrons will be discouraged from congregating outside the premises.
The plan has received mixed reactions from the community. While several residents expressed support, highlighting local regeneration and community engagement, others raised concerns about noise and antisocial behaviour.
Despite these concerns, the council’s decision paves the way for the new micropub to become a reality.
