Worthing Heat Network Works to Temporarily Restrict Car Park Access

Motorists using Worthing’s High Street multi-storey car park will need to follow a temporary diversion as construction work on the Worthing Heat Network progresses. From Sunday, March 23, to Friday, March 28, the main entrance will be closed while Hemiko installs the foundations for a new energy centre.
The work, managed by Hemiko in partnership with Worthing Borough Council, will involve using a crane to install the steel framework of the energy centre. As a result, drivers will need to enter and exit the car park via the usual exit that connects to the eastern end of Chatsworth Road. A temporary stop-go system will be in place to manage vehicle flow safely.
Worthing Borough Council has advised motorists to consider alternative parking options at Grafton and Buckingham Road multi-storey car parks or other surface car parks in the town. The cycle storage hub near the car park entrance will also be temporarily inaccessible, with an alternative facility available at the Civic Quarter multi-storey car park. The council has assured residents that the car park will remain open throughout the works to minimise disruption to visitors and town centre businesses.
