Worthing Independent School Gains Approval for Second Site

An independent school in Worthing has secured approval for a second site to support students with special educational needs.

Worthing Borough Council has granted permission for Educate U to convert 19 Liverpool Gardens from a commercial property into an educational facility.

The new site will provide speech and language therapy, as well as occupational therapy, for students attending Educate U’s main campus at 58 Chapel Road. The school, which opened in December 2019, currently supports around 40 children aged six to 16, all of whom have an Education, Health and Care (EHC) plan. The expansion aims to enhance specialised learning and therapeutic support.

According to the school’s plans, the new site will be staffed by a speech and language therapist, an occupational therapist, a receptionist, an exams officer, and a special educational needs coordinator (SENCO). Educate U stated that the additional campus will ensure students receive the full support outlined in their EHC plans.
