Worthing Integrated Care Centre Set to Open in Weeks
Worthing’s new state-of-the-art Integrated Care Centre (WICC) is set to welcome its first medical teams within weeks, marking a significant development in local healthcare.
The Worthing Integrated Care Centre (WICC), constructed on a former Worthing Borough Council car park, has officially been handed over by construction firm Galliford Try. NHS services are expected to start operating in the facility soon, offering a centralised location for GP, dental, and mental health services. The WICC will also host a new Paydens pharmacy and provide space for small-scale medical procedures.
A new multi-storey car park adjacent to the WICC will open on 11th December. The facility, featuring 49 public spaces available 24/7 and 86 additional spaces open to the public outside NHS hours, aims to improve access for both patients and town centre visitors. The car park’s design incorporates a one-way system accessed from Civic Place and exiting on Stoke Abbott Road.
The WICC represents a collaboration between Worthing Borough Council and NHS Sussex. Expected to be fully operational by early 2025, it will be the first centre of its kind in Sussex, bringing together multiple healthcare services under one roof. Local leaders, including Cllr Rita Garner and Dr James Ramsey, have highlighted its importance in improving access to integrated care for the Worthing community.
