Worthing Man Arrested After Colliding with Police Car

A man from Worthing has been arrested after colliding with a police car and attempting to flee on foot. Officers from Sussex Police’s Specialist Enforcement Unit attempted to stop the suspect’s vehicle on Friday morning, but the driver failed to comply, leading to a police pursuit.

The incident occurred around 11:20 am on March 14 when police attempted to halt a vehicle in Worthing. Instead of stopping, the driver fled, colliding with a police car. Officers later found the vehicle abandoned in Browning Road and launched a search operation in the surrounding area.

Following the search, officers located the suspect hiding in a garden on Heene Road, where he was subsequently arrested. Sussex Police confirmed that a 46-year-old man from Worthing was taken into custody for multiple offences and remains detained.
