Worthing Man Reunites with Paramedics Who Saved His Life

A Worthing man who suffered a cardiac arrest has reunited with the paramedics who saved his life. Chris Geddes, 58, collapsed at his home in January 2023 and was revived by a team of paramedics following the quick actions of his partner, Lesley Geddes, a former emergency call handler.

Chris had woken up feeling unwell with nausea and wrist pain, which he initially dismissed as minor. However, Lesley suspected something more serious and called for medical help. While paramedics were performing basic checks, Chris suddenly collapsed. The team, including critical care paramedics, managed to restore his heart rhythm and transfer him to Royal Sussex County Hospital.

After a successful operation to remove a blockage in one of his arteries, Chris was discharged and returned to his normal life, even attending a Brighton football match days later. In August, the couple met the paramedics again, expressing their gratitude for their life-saving efforts.
