Worthing Pub Closes Temporarily Following Early Morning Fire
A fire at the Sussex Yeoman pub in Worthing early on Sunday morning has resulted in its temporary closure, though no injuries have been reported.
The fire broke out at the Sussex Yeoman pub on Palatine Road around 4:30 am Sunday, January 12. West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service responded to the incident at 6:40 am, dispatching four fire engines to the scene. Local residents were advised to avoid the area as firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze.
Two fire engines remained at the scene until 10:30 am to ensure the fire was fully under control. A spokesperson for the pub confirmed that the fire affected a small area and expressed gratitude to the fire service for their swift response, which prevented further damage.
The cause of the fire has not yet been officially confirmed.
