Worthing Raiders Secure 24-12 Victory in Pre-Season Clash Against Brighton
Worthing Raiders earned a 24-12 win over Brighton in a pre-season match marked by difficult weather conditions.
The match, held last night, saw the Raiders overcoming scrappy play and challenging conditions as they build momentum ahead of their season opener.
The first half featured Worthing’s first team battling Brighton’s first team in heavy rain and strong winds. Brighton initially took the lead with a try but failed to convert. However, Worthing responded with tries from Ollie Crow and Harrison Dakin, the latter followed by a successful conversion by Louis Ellis, bringing the halftime score to 12-5 in favour of Worthing.
In the second half, Worthing introduced Raiders A, including several players debuting in adult rugby. They extended the lead with tries from Louis Crawley and Finn Glas, with one conversion by Dave Windsor. Brighton managed a late try to narrow the gap, but Worthing’s solid defence ensured a 24-12 victory.
The Raiders now look forward to their final pre-season match against Amersham on 31st August.
