Worthing Residents to Benefit from Free Parking and Bus Travel this Christmas

Worthing residents are set to benefit from free parking and bus travel on selected days in the lead-up to Christmas, thanks to a partnership between Worthing Borough Council and Hemiko.

Hemiko, the company behind the Worthing Heat Network project, is sponsoring the initiative to thank residents and businesses for their patience during construction. Four days of free parking have been scheduled at multi-storey car parks across the town, alongside two days of free bus services with Compass Travel.

Free parking will be available at Buckingham multi-storey car park on November 29, December 15, and December 18, with an additional date at High Street car park on December 21. Compass buses 8/8A and 16 will offer free travel all day on December 13 and 14, with passengers simply needing to inform the driver.

This initiative comes as night works are set to complete the first phase of the heat network, aiming to minimise further disruption. A Worthing Borough Council spokesperson encouraged residents to take advantage of the offer, saying, “We hope shoppers make the most of the opportunity by supporting the town’s businesses.”
