Worthing Rugby Club Unveils Refurbished Stand in Memory of Charley McAdams
Worthing Rugby Club has officially opened its refurbished grandstand, a project dedicated to the memory of Charley McAdams, a prominent supporter of the club who passed away in July 2023.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony was led by her children, Hannah and Will, marking the completion of the community-funded project.
The new supporters’ stand honours McAdams, who was a Worthing Warriors player and chair of women’s rugby. She was highly regarded by the club for her contributions over the years. The refurbishment project, backed by significant fundraising and volunteer effort, now offers a safe and sheltered space for spectators to enjoy the games.
Worthing Rugby Club, established over 102 years ago and located in Angmering since 1977, continues to enhance its facilities. The grounds, which cover more than 23 acres, are a hub for rugby as well as other sports and community activities. The upgraded grandstand will serve a wide range of users, including the Worthing Raiders, Worthing Warriors, and various junior teams.
