Worthing Sweet Shop Incident - Police Investigate Altercation
A Worthing sweet shop was cordoned off by police after a staff member suffered facial injuries in an altercation involving two men.
Sussex Police were called to a shop in Broadwater Street, Worthing, around 2:30 pm on 4th June following a report of an altercation. The shopkeeper sustained facial injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Police have increased their presence in the area as they continue their investigation into the incident. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police quoting reference 752 of 04/06.
In addition to the shop, a section of the nearby St Mary’s Church cemetery was also cordoned off. Detectives were seen examining the site, with evidence bags, including what appeared to be a till, observed within the cordon.
