Burlington Hotel to Expand with New Rooms and Restaurant
The Burlington Hotel, a Grade II listed seafront building in Worthing, is set for an extensive upgrade, adding 18 new rooms and a restaurant. Worthing Borough Council has approved the plans, which also include a new accessible entrance and expanded kitchen facilities.
The proposed changes will see a four-storey extension to the historic hotel on Marine Parade. As part of the development, a former tea room currently used as a dance hall will be demolished to make space for the new additions. Planning documents highlight the creation of a new main entrance that will offer improved accessibility for guests, removing the need for steps to reach the reception.
Built in 1864, the Burlington Hotel is Worthing’s oldest hotel. The proposed renovations aim to preserve the façade of the original tea room as part of the new design.
